This Samsung HW-K950 Dolby Atmos Sound Bar Review is from CNET.
Dolby Atmos is the next big thing in home theater. It brings with it the added dimension of overhead audio effects. But it usually requires a whole new set of speakers and a receiver to take advantage of it. Samsung’s new HW-K950 soundbar though is designed to take some of the pain out of upgrading to Atmos.
I was called to a clients house for a service call claiming that they had a Sonos clicking sound in their Wireless Speaker System shortly after we installed a Sonos Connect as a source. When I arrived I could hear a perfectly timed sequence of a clicking sound coming from any zone that was playing Sonos. I proceeded to change every cable to ensure it was not the obvious but the clicking continued after every cable was replaced.
Just as I was going to change out the Sonos Connect the clients home phone rang and the sound intensified, after her phone call I went to the Panasonic phone base and unplugged it and the clicking stopped through the audio system. Now that I had found the problem I plugged the phone system back in and then went into the advanced setting of the Sonos Connect and changed the Sonos channel from the default to channel 11 now there is no clicking.
Thought I would post this because if it was not for the phone call it could have turned in to a long day of trouble shooting.

What would happen if Sonos took all of their resources and team that they’ve built up over the years and threw them all at creating the very best possible product they could make?
Sonos’ objective was to go after massively better sound and wireless performance and put it in an iconic package. So they set out to redesign the current Sonos PLAY:5 speaker. One of the things that’s significantly different at Sonos is that they actually design every single part of their products. Not one woofer, tweeter, or other piece of hardware was taken off the shelf in the creation of the new PLAY:5. The way that Sonos approached the new Sonos 5 design was to design every single piece from the ground up.
Sonos Wireless Speakers let you listen to all the music on earth in every room in your home in amazing Hi-Fi sound. The Sonos system is easy to set up. You can start with any speaker and expand your system to other rooms over time.
Access all the music you want from anywhere on earth, in any room of your home, all from one app. Control your home listening experience from any smartphone, computer or tablet. With Sonos wireless speakers you can stream different music in every room of your home. You can group rooms to play one song simultaneously, or play the same song throughout your entire home.
This weekend our President, Duane Gibson, attended the Playhouse Build Competition & Auction for the “Kristen French Child Advocacy Centre Niagara.” The fundraising event was held to support children and youth victims of crime in Niagara.
Duane attended in support of the event with the Niagara Home Builders Association and one of Gibbys clients, Rinaldi Homes.
Several of Niagara’s Local Developers including Rinaldi Homes, Mountainview Homes, Phelps Homes, and Southport Builders, participated in the event. The builders provided all their time and labour at no expense and turned the parking lot at Jeanne Sauve French Immersion Public School in St. Catharines into a playhouse construction zone for the afternoon.
All of the playhouses were auctioned off at the end of the day, and as it turned out Duane was one of the lucky winning bidders. We’re calling our new (upside-down) building “Gibbys Playhouse.”
The Playhouse Build Competition & Auction raised $3,000 for the centre, which helps with child abuse investigations by reducing the amount of times a child has to repeat their experience to adults. The centre also provides support and therapeutic resources for children and their families, as well as long-term support.
This event showcases Niagara developers: Rinaldi Homes Inc, Mountainview Homes, Southport Builders Niagara & Phelps Homes in a friendly competition to build custom playhouses that will be auctioned off live on site! These one-of-a-kind playhouses will be auctioned off at the end of the afternoon. Bidding will start at $300 – with all proceeds supporting the Kristen French Child Advocacy Centre Niagara!
Come out and show your support as we are ‘Building for Change and Shaping the Future Together’ for Niagara’s children and youth.
Enjoy an afternoon BBQ lunch sponsored by Service Experts, let the kids participate in fun activities and enjoy bouncing with Niagara Inflatables & Games, Inc. or watch live demonstrations from local clubs and performers. Watch the Build Competition & bid on your favourite playhouse. Participate in our silent auction to take home your own backyard treasure.
