Environmental Handling Fees (EHF)
Environmental Handling Fees (EHF) are charged by Canada’s Provinces and Territories on all electronics purchases. They are designed to cover the costs associated with responsible and safe recycling of electronics. These fees are not a tax. The amount charged is based on the product you’re purchasing and your shipping address. Environmental Handling Fees are subject to change at any time.
As a Canadian retailer we are required to charge the EHF on all applicable products under the rules for each Province and Territory. These fees are designed to help to recycle end-of-life electronics rather than having them disposed in landfill sites. The entire amount of this fee is used for the purpose of recycling these electronic products.
Yes, the EHF is charged on Open Box products.
The Environmental Handling Fees amount will appear in your “Checkout”. They will also appear as an item on your invoice. The amount charged is dependent upon the Province or Territory that the product is being delivered to.
