The Hertz H8-DSP may connect to any analogue and/or digital source, transforming "audio" into a high-performance integrated system. The user-friendly computer program allows for a variety of modifications to optimize the acoustic response of a complex environment such as a car compartment. The PC program which was created to meet the special ergonomics requirements of the Car Audio business, allows direct access to all of the various signal treatment operations, delivering immediate results as well as great operational accuracy.

The Hertz H8-DSP automobile audio processor can connect to any analogue or digital source, transforming "audio" into a high-performance integrated system. The user-friendly computer programme allows for a variety of modifications to optimize the acoustic response of a complex environment such as a car compartment. It has seven signal inputs with several connection options: four high-level inputs that also accept low-level pre-amplified signals, a stereo auxiliary input, and an optical digital input that accepts signals at up to 96/24 bit sample rate. By-passing the analogue signals, the optical digital input (selectable through the DRC HE remote control and the "Optical / AUX select" connector) eliminates interferences and signal degradation. Thanks to the configuration Wizard provided by the software during the set-up, the H8 DSP can automatically sum up multiple filtered channels (for instance, woofer plus tweeter), “flatten” the OEM source equalized response curve and reconstruct a centre, rear and/or subwoofer channel with a simple stereo input. By reading the test track on the CD provided, the H8 DSP recreates a full-bandwidth signal, with a flat frequency response and released after processing for an outstanding sound quality. The H8 DSP features 8 PRE OUT analog outputs each of them including: a 31 band equalizer, a 68 step electronic crossover, Linkwitz- Riley or Butterworth filters with selectable 6 – 24 dB adjustable slopes and digital time delay functions.

Developed according to specific ergonomics criteria required by the Car Audio industry, the PC software facilitates direct access to all the available functions for the signal treatment, providing immediate results, as well as extreme operational accuracy. Setting the parameters of each input single channel, adjusting the delays according to the listening position, tuning the crossovers and equalizers for each output channel; these are just some of the operations that can be managed by the PC software based on Windows platform (XP, Vista, 7,8, 10) to be used in Standard or Expert mode.

English, Italian, German, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean are among the languages supported by the PC programme. The language can be changed by the user, and the change will be reflected in the drop-down options and Context Help messages. The number of languages accessible will grow; updates will be available for download through the bit Drive portal soon they become available (www.bitDrive.it).

The DRC HE provides main system control without the need for a PC. The user can pick between two "tune" configurations previously saved using the PC programme, select the source from the master, auxiliary, and optical digital inputs, and alter essential system functions thanks to this device, which is positioned in an ergonomic position within the automobile dashboard (volume, balance, fader and subwoofer volume).
