JL Audio JX1000 1D 1000 Watt Monoblock Class D Subwoofer Amplifier (JX1000/1D)
The JL Audio JX1000/1D is an amazingly compact amplifier that delivers a real kilowatt of power at an unbelievably great price. Using a tough-as-nails Class D circuit with a robust MOSFET power supply, the JX1000/1D is fully capable of driving the toughest subwoofer loads with very good control and excellent sound quality.
Targeted specifically for subwoofer applications, the JX1000/1D includes a variable slope low-pass filter with continuously variable cutoff frequency selection from 50-200 Hz. It also features a variable bass boost at 45 Hz. with up to 12 dB of boost and an optional remote boost control. Dedicated hi-level inputs are included, in addition to conventional low-level RCA inputs, making it easy to integrate with a variety of OEM and aftermarket head units.
JL Audio designed these amplifiers with sturdy, high-grade parts that ensure excellent heat management, provide high current flow, and deliver stable performance in almost any situation. You won’t find blinking lights or meters on the outside of these amps, but you will find oversized output transistors and rugged MOSFET power supplies inside. The sleek, high-mass aluminum heatsink keeps things cool enough to virtually eliminate thermal shut-downs.
The JX1000/1 1D mono amp puts out up to 1,000 watts RMS to your sub, so you’ll experience thunderous bass in your music. Use the variable low-pass filter and bass boost to tune the amp to your subwoofer system. An optional remote level control lets you turn the sub up or down from the front seat. The amp includes speaker-level inputs, along with preamp inputs and outputs, so it’s ready to work in virtually any system.
For those systems that do not offer a preamp level signal option, you can connect speaker level signals directly to the “Hi-Level Inputs” connector using the supplied connector and wire harness. Simply splice the appropriate left/right and positive/negative wires to the included harness and plug the harness into the “Hi-Level Inputs” connector on the amplifier. The JL Audio JX1000/1D’s monoblock will attenuate the high-level signal to make it compatible with its input stage. Alternatively, a traditional left/ right pair of RCA type jacks is used for preamp level (low-level) signals. This is the preferred connection method whenever available.
Low-Pass Active Filter
The JL Audio JX1000/1D monoblock features a 12 dB/octave low-pass active filter for its internal channel. This feature is designed to attenuate frequencies above its filter frequency, so that the system’s subwoofer(s) do not reproduce any audible and often harmful mid-range frequencies. The low-pass filter is fully variable between 50 Hz and 200 Hz via the “Filter Frequency” control knob. 80 Hz is a good starting point for system tuning, but its also advisable to match the crossover point with that of your satellite speakers’ high-pass filter – this ensures that your system is properly distributing the frequencies to the appropriate medium.
