Kenwood KAC-9106D Class D Mono Power Amplifier

Kenwood KAC-9106D is a tough, rugged amplifier that brings you superior sound quality along with reliable performance. When you power your subwoofer with the Kenwood KAC-9106D’s Performance Series amplifier, you’ll hear all the great tonal color, impact, and detail in your music’s bass, from the hard punch of the rhythm section to the soft thump of a quiet kick drum.

The KAC-9106D mono amp puts out up to 1,000 watts RMS to your subwoofer. Onboard low-pass and subsonic filters let you adjust the signal so you’ll get the best sound possible from your subwoofer/box combo. You can dial in up to 18 dB of bass boost if you want to really fatten up the sound.

This versatile amp features speaker-level inputs and signal sensing turn-on, so you can put this amp to work in just about any kind of system. Aluminum cover plates cover and protect the amp’s connections and controls, giving your installation a neat, professional look.

KAC-9106D Features

CEA-2006 Compliant: CEA-2006 is a system of testing and measurement for mobile audio amplifiers. This voluntary standard advocates a uniform method for measuring an amplifier’s RMS power output and signal-to-noise ratio. The criteria for measuring power uses a DC input voltage of 14.4 volts and the RMS power output is measured into a 4Ω load, with 1% or less Total Harmonic Distortion plus noise (THD+N), and over a frequency range of 20 Hz to 20 kHz (for full range amplifiers). Signal-to-Noise ratio is measured in weighted absolute decibels (dBA) at a reference of 1 watt into 4Ω. CEA-2006 standards allow consumers to compare car amplifiers and receivers under the same conditions (apples to apples). Using CEA-2006 criteria, the Kenwood KAC-9106D is rated at 500 watts RMS x 1 channel with a 76 dBA signal to noise ratio. The signal to noise ratio at the rated power output (not CEA-2006 conditions) is 100 dB.

2-Ohm Stable: The amplifier can also support a 2-ohm load; the 2-ohm power output is 1,000 watts RMS x 1 channel.

Cast Aluminum Heat Sink: The KAC-9106D utilizes a cast aluminum heat sink design to ensure the amplifier stays cool.

Protection circuitry: The amplifier features protection circuits that will turn the amp off in case of the following events:

• speaker wire short-circuits
• speaker output contacts ground
• unit malfunctions and DC is sent to speaker output
• the amp overheats

Power Indicator: When the amplifier is turned on the Power indicator (on top of the amp) lights up. This indicator turns off with the amplifier, and will turn off if the amplifier goes into protect mode.

Auto Turn-on: When using a speaker level input, the amp will turn on automatically when it senses the input signal.

The CMOS-130 rear view CMOS camera features wide-angle mirror image, a 1/3.6″ Colour CMOS sensor, waterproof unit with flexible mount base. The CMOS 130 can also be mounted at the front with Kenwood 2016 models with dual camera inputs.

JL Audio built the BassWedge CP212-W0v3 enclosure to make car-rattling bass for a reasonable price, without the need for a ton of power. The enclosure’s designed to match the two 12″ subs loaded into it, so you know you’ll get every ounce of performance out of this enclosure.

An Excellent Combination

The CP212-W0v3 BassWedge contains two 12″ W0v3 subwoofers that handle up to 600 watts RMS, and are loaded into a specially built slot-ported enclosure. The enclosure can be placed with the woofers firing downwards, or in typical front or rear firing applications, giving you immense bass regardless of how you place it. The enclosure is loaded and wired with two JL Audio 12W0v3 single 4-ohm subwoofers. The W0v3 offers superb excursion capability, linearity and an overall performance output that puts it right at the top of its price class. The driver features a very beefy 2.0-inch diameter voice coil, a DMA-optimized motor system and JL Audio’s patented Elevated Frame Cooling design – all purpose-engineered for enhanced power handling and reliability. What this also means, is your system will be immediately injected with the increase in output and better sound fidelity that one expects from a JL Audio product. In addition, excellent excursion capability and linearity allow it to reproduce sub-bass with striking extension and quality. When matched up with the proper power source, signal and setup the W0v3 is capable of a well rounded sound that is unparalleled by any other driver in its price range.

Solid MDF enclosure

JL Audio uses state-of-the-art automated woodworking equipment to fabricate the high-quality MDF enclosure with rugged automotive carpeting, nickel-plated push terminals, and solid internal wiring.

Flexible JL Audio Power

The CP212-W0v3 Enclosure can be driven with as little as 150 Watts. However, for best audio performance it is recommended to run an amplifier capable of between 400 – 600 Watts of continuous power per driver, like the JL Audio XD600/1v2 or JL Audio JX500/1D. In addition, The ultra-versatile BassWedge shape has extended sides so that it can be placed with the woofers firing out or straight down, off the floor of the vehicle. The shape works equally well in forward or rear-firing installations. This gives you plenty of options for tweaking the loading of the enclosure into your vehicle.

CP212-W0v3 Features

Overview: The JL Audio slot-ported BassWedge subwoofer enclosure is designed around two of JL Audio’s 12″ W0v3-4 (4Ω) subwoofers. Aggressive tuning delivers powerful bass without the need for a huge amplifier. The MDF enclosure is covered with gray carpet and has JL AUDIO logos embroidered across the top and front. The enclosure design offers a variety of installation options: forward, rear or down firing. The slot-port runs along the bottom of the enclosure and fires on the same plane as the woofer; the port mouth is flared to minimize air-flow noises.

Speaker Terminal: The enclosure uses one pair of nickel-plated, high current spring posts. The posts are located on the left side of the box and will accept pin connectors, single or dual banana plugs, or bare wire up to 10 gauge.

W0v3 Woofer Features:

• Dynamic Motor Analysis (DMA): DMA is JL Audio’s proprietary method of improving dynamic motor behavior. As a result of DMA optimization, the 12W0v3-4 motor displays linear force over a long excursion range, and also maintains a stable fixed magnetic field in the gap over a wide power range. The result is a reduced distortion, faithfully reproduced transients, and tight, clean, articulate bass.
• Elevated Frame Cooling: The elevated frame design of the 12W0v3-4 delivers cool air through slots directly above the top plate to the voice coil. This not only enhances power handling, but also sound quality by minimizing dynamic parameter shifts and power compression.
• Rear Gasket: The woofer has a rear gasket to provide an optimal seal when installing into the enclosure.
• Long Excursion: The subwoofer has an Xmax of 11.4mm, giving you louder bass with less distortion.
