Marantz PM5005 Stereo Integrated Amplifier
The Marantz PM5005 Stereo integrated amplifier features a premium audiophile design at an affordable price. The PM5005 features all-analog circuitry from input to output, and delivers wide frequency response, high dynamic range along with true low impedance drive capability and is rated to handle both 8 ohms and 4 ohms speakers.
With current feedback power amplifier circuitry (a Marantz innovation), the power amplifier section also features pure discrete analog circuitry along with multiple high current discrete power output devices that are easily able to handle lower impedance loads and deliver high instantaneous peak current capability.
Rated at 40 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 55 watts per channel into 4 ohms, the PM5005 features A and B speaker outputs, for two sets of stereo speakers, or for bi-wiring with compatible stereo speakers.
The deluxe remote control provides discrete source input buttons, and includes additional buttons for direct control of the matching Marantz CD5005 player and Marantz Network Audio Players.
Current Feedback Discrete Power Amplifier
The Marantz PM5005 Stereo integrated amplifier features a power amplifier section based on our renowned current feedback technology, a Marantz innovation that debuted on our very first power amplifier. High current discrete power output devices mounted on a generously-sized aluminum heat sink together provide high instantaneous peak current capability, and are easily able to handle dynamic bursts into lower impedance 4 ohm speaker loads (the current capacity for each amplifier channel is a substantial 16 amps).
Wide Range of Connectivity Options
New generation music lovers and Veteran audiophiles alike know that the sonic allure of vinyl records often can’t be matched by digital audio sources, so the Marantz PM5005 includes multiple analog inputs including a MM (moving magnet) phono input.
There are also dual recording inputs and outputs, along with a headphone amplifier jack on the front panel, and the high grade speaker connectors can accept multiple speaker cable termination types.
The audio input and output jacks are all gold plated for maximum signal integrity.
Source Direct Function
To ensure the shortest signal path and the highest fidelity, the PM5005 features our Source Direct function, which bypasses the tone control and loudness control circuitry.
Discrete amp
Fully Discrete Volume Amplifier Circuit
The volume amplifier circuit features fully discrete circuitry (no op amp chips in the signal path) for the widest bandwidth, lowest distortion, and highest dynamic range.
Elegant Remote Control
The elegant remote control includes additional function buttons that let you control a Marantz CD player and a Marantz Network Audio Player, for total system control with a single remote.
Versatile Remote Control Options
The PM5005 features remote control input and output jacks that let you hard wire the amplifier directly to a Marantz CD player, which in turn can be hard wired to a Marantz Network Audio Player.
For example, you can place a Marantz CD player on an open shelf for easy access, and place the PM5005 and a Marantz Network Audio Player tucked away in a cabinet and hidden from view, and control all 3 units with a single remote, which helps to eliminate component clutter.

Marantz CD5005 Single Compact Disc Player with DAC
the Marantz CD5005 compact disc player combines exclusive Marantz technologies and elegant styling, reference class CS4398 24 bit/192 kHz D/A converter along with Marantz HDAM (Hyper Dynamic Amplifier Module) technology to deliver pure sonic performance. The center-mounted CD drive mechanism is compatible with music CD, CD-R and CD-RW discs, and the player features multiple file type playback capability, including MP3, WMA and AAC file types.
Of special interest to musicians, the Marantz CD5005 features adjustable pitch, which allows fine tuning of the tempo and the Audio EX modes can disable the pitch control, the digital audio outputs and the front panel display for maximum fidelity.
Marantz HDAM Technology
Instead of employing conventional IC-based op amp chips in the final audio output stage, the Marantz CD5005 features our exclusive HDAM-SA2 discrete component modules, which provide wide bandwidth, fast slew rate, lowest noise and lowest distortion. The HDAM-SA2 is a highly refined HDAM module, with superior performance compared to earlier HDAM versions, and is found on our high end disc players and our audiophile network audio players.
Reference Quality D/A Conversion
For compatibility with the widest range of audio formats, the Marantz CD5005 features the reference class CS4398 24 bit/192 kHz digital to analog converter, the same device found on our premium models.
Fully Discrete Headphone Amplifier
The all discrete headphone amplifier section features premium components selected for top audio fidelity, and is compatible with the widest range of headphone types, including low impedance models, and features a front panel adjustable volume control
Adjustable Pitch Control
The Marantz CD5005 features adjustable pitch, which lets you vary the tempo of the music, and is of special interest to musicians. It can adjust the pitch of CD digital audio as well as PCM-based audio file types.
Audio EX Modes
For highest sound quality, the Marantz CD5005 includes 2 Audio EX modes:
Audio EX Mode 1 disables the pitch control and the digital audio outputs.
Audio EX Mode 2 disables the pitch control and the digital audio outputs, and blanks the front panel display during playback (the display returns when playback is stopped or paused), and is the preferred mode for the best possible playback fidelity from the analog audio outputs.
Optical and Coaxial Digital Audio Outputs
For compatibility with the widest range of external digital audio devices and decoders, the Marantz CD5005 features both optical and coaxial digital audio outputs.
