Onkyo C-7030 Compact Single-Disc CD Player w/ 25-Track Playback
The Onkyo C-7030 is for music lovers who enjoy the tangible experience of playing a physical format, the CD retains its enduring appeal. The pleasure comes not just from browsing a collection of discs and reading the liner notes. It also comes from enjoying your music in superior fidelity. By combining high-quality components and decades of Onkyo audio know-how, the C-7030 CD player delivers a superb playback experience. The key lies in keeping the audio signal clean and free from interference, all the way to the output stage. To achieve this, we employ a new high-precision clock to dramatically reduce timing errors, along with our original VLSC to reduce pulse noise. Driving the system is a massive, custom-built transformer that provides a clean and stable power supply. Given how affordable the C-7030 is, build quality is exceptional. A 1/16″ (1.6 mm)-thick flat chassis base helps reduce unwanted vibrations, while the sleek aluminum front panel provides an elegant finish.
Designed with Audiophiles in Mind
So how does the C-7030 squeeze every drop of audio greatness out of your CDs? By reducing the opportunities for signal degradation so your music remains as sonically pure as possible. It starts with a large, custom-built transformer to provide plenty of clean power. The high-precision clock minimizes timing errors, or jitter, as the signal enters the digital-to-analog conversion. The D/A converter is a high-quality Wolfson 24-bit/192 kHz DAC, and Onkyo’s Vector Linear Shaping Circuitry further ensures a sonically pure signal by reducing pulse noise at the conversion stage. It may sound complicated, but the gist is that Onkyo has gone the extra mile to ensure your CDs sound as clean and clear as possible.
The C-7030 will play standard CDs as well as MP3 and WMA CDs and CD-Rs/RWs. The heavy-duty chassis of this beefy 11.7-pound player is designed to prevent unwanted vibration and resonance. And the dedicated headphone amplifier circuitry includes volume control, so you can plug your favorite headphones directly into the C-7030 without using a separate amp or receiver.
Disc Compatibility
The Onkyo C-7030 single-disc CD player will play Audio CDs and CD-R/CD-RW discs (12cm/8cm). It will also supports playback of MP3 (32-320kbps; 32/44.1/48 kHz) and WMA (32-192kbps; 32/44.1/48kHz) files recorded onto CD-R/RW discs in ISO9660 Level 2. The CD player can recognize up to 99 folders and up to 499 files per MP3/WMA disc.
VLSC (Vector Linear Shaping Circuitry)
In conventional digital-to-analog conversion methods, it’s impossible to completely remove noise. This noise taints the analog signal and ultimately degrades the sound emitted from your speakers. With Onkyo’s VLSC, though, data is continuously sampled between two discrete points (via a signal comparison generator) and the difference is joined with analog vectors in real time to produce a smooth output waveform. The VLSC digital-to-analog conversion method results in an accurate, virtually pulse noise-free audio signal that faithfully reproduces the acoustic detail and subtle nuances of all your audio sources, and breathes life into digital media.
Wolfson 24-bit/192kHz DAC
A high-quality Wolfson digital-to-analog converter works to optimize audio performance of the C-7030. This DAC performs advanced 24-bit signal processing and supports sampling rates of up to 192 kHz, while displaying high resistance to clock jitter. With this advanced onboard DAC, the C-7030 delivers a pristine conversion of digital signals into analog audio output.
Precision Clock (+/-10ppm)
The C-7030 boasts a precise clocking mechanism that controls and coordinates the timing of all digital signal processes (like how a conductor directs and coordinates the individual instruments of an orchestra). The C-7030 uses a state-of-the-art crystal oscillator that achieves a frequency deviation of ±10 ppm, much lower than with a conventional oscillator.
Custom-Designed Massive EI Transformer
Powering the CD Player, is a massive, custom-built transformer that provides a clean and stable power supply.
High-Rigidity, Anti-Resonant Chassis
Build quality of the Onkyo C-7030 starts from the ground up with a highly rigid, 1.6mm thick, fully flat chassis and solid aluminum front-panel that provides excellent protection against shelf-borne vibrations.
Front-Panel LCD
The Onkyo C-7030 features a front-panel LCD which can display the following disc information – Time Elapsed/Remaining, File/Folder Name, Song Title, Artist Name, Album Name, and Sampling-/Bit-rate. You can adjust the brightness of the display from Normal, Dim, Dimmer.
