Rockford Fosgate P16-S Punch Series 6″ Component Speaker System

The P16-S is a 6″ 2-way component system with 1″ soft dome tweeters and is rated at 60 watts RMS. The system includes a pair of tweeters, two woofers with grilles, integrated crossovers, and mounting hardware.

Serious Punch

Rockford Fosgate’s Punch Series P16-S component speaker system is a powerful upgrade from factory sound. Using a mineral-filled injection-molded polypropylene cone, the 6″ woofer delivers substantial, accurate sound. Rockford Fosgate’s signature VAST surround technique also expands the surface area of the cone, giving you better bass response than comparable speakers.

A separate 1″ dome tweeter brings your music to life with clear, extended highs, and Rockford Fosgate includes hardware for flush- or surface-mounting each tweeter.

Streamlined installation

With most component systems, finding room for the crossovers in your doors or dash can be a chore. Rockford Fosgate simplifies the installation process by integrating the system’s crossovers in the woofer baskets. Rockford Fosgate has also souped up their woofer baskets with their friendly FlexFit design. Rather than only providing rigid screw holes that may not always match up to your factory speaker opening, the FlexFit basket design uses slots on the outer edge of the woofer basket for an easier match when things don’t line up perfectly.

DDC™ Tweeter Mounting

Every aspect of our new DDC™ Tweeter design has been completely re-engineered to allow for maximum ease of installation and fitment. This optimized patent pending design provides concentric clamping pressure around the perimeter of the mounting hole. The “mounting cups” on the new design are in fact not “cups” at all, but rather unobtrusive “clamps” that quickly and easily mount in a standard 1-5/4″ (45mm) hole saw opening with a single concentric center screw securing with balanced pressure to both faces of the mounting surface. From there, the tweeter simply snaps into place and is secured by a snap on trim ring. Removal is easy if needed. The protective grille on the tweeter is non-removable and an integral part of the design.

In turn, both nominal efficiency and maximum output capabilities are dramatically improved. FlexFit Basket – Speaker

The slot mounted frame pattern of the FlexFit basket utilizes slots (where feasible) instead of single screw sized holes. This allows slight adjustment of the speaker when mounted. The slot mounted frame pattern allows for variable adjustments to the mounting position.
