Rockford Fosgate invented novel construction techniques to put a 3-inch voice coil into a 10-inch sub with only a 3-inch mounting depth, then used their Vertical Attach Surround Technique (VAST) to enhance cone area for richer bass. It all adds up to up to 500 watts RMS of power handling in a surprisingly small package.
