Sony XAV-AX1000 6.2-Inch Apple CarPlay Media Receiver
Sony XAV-AX1000 6.2-Inch Apple CarPlay Media Receiver front-panel USB (type-A) port supports connection of a USB MSC (mass storage class) device, like a thumbdrive or portable digital audio player. You’ll be able to playback a variety of audio, video, and photo files on your compatible USB MSC device through the Sony receiver, as well as control playback and view song/artist information with album art.
The Sony receiver’s USB connection provides 1.5A of current to power and charge your connected iPhone or other smartphone device when your vehicle’s ignition switch is set to the ‘ACC’ or ‘On’ position. If your iPhone or smartphone device has no initial battery charge, then the unit will not recognize it.
The Sony XAV-AX1000 is equipped with built-in Bluetooth 3.0, allowing you to make and receive phone calls wirelessly through the receiver; as well as stream music wirelessly from your smartphone to the head unit. In order to use Bluetooth wireless technology, your phone must also be Bluetooth compatible and be able to interpret certain profiles.
Wireless Audio Streaming
The Sony XAV-AX1000 also supports wireless audio playback (AD2P) and control (AVRCP) of a Bluetooth enabled audio player or smartphone. You can stream stored music, music apps, and other audio content from your Bluetooth source device to the XAV-AX1000. When an incoming call or outgoing call is in progress from your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone, audio streaming will be paused so you can take your call. Once the call is finished, your streaming music will resume.
Optional SiriusXM Tuner
The Sony XAV-AX1000 is SiriusXM-Ready and compatible with the SiriusXM Connect Vehicle Tuner (220SXV300 sold separately). The SiriusXM Connect Vehicle Tuner supports SiriusXM programming with access to 175+ SiriusXM channels via subscription; check out the most popular SiriusXM subscription packages here.
3-Way Rotary Dial
In addition to touchscreen control, the Sony head unit features a 3-way rotary dial and one push-button control along the left side of the front-panel. The ergonomic rotary dial makes operation distraction-free. Turn it to control volume, or push the integrated button to launch sound control menus. Alternatively, hold the button to use voice commands. The push-button provides access to the receiver’s home menu, as well as attenuates the receiver’s audio.
