Designed for music lovers committed to their CD collections, it pairs straightforward operation with engineering that preserves musical detail, spatial information and dynamics.

Preserve the Timing and Natural Decay of Music

QRONO d2a prioritizes the accurate timing and natural decay of musical transients while maintaining excellent frequency response across the audible range. A dedicated XMOS processor works alongside custom filter stages integrated with the ESS ES9039Q2M SABRE® DAC.

Protect Transient Detail with Dynamic Digital Headroom

Intersample peaks can cause hard clipping when the reconstructed waveform exceeds the DAC’s available headroom. Dynamic Digital Headroom reduces the internal digital signal level by 3 dB before conversion, providing additional headroom to accommodate these peaks. This helps reduce the risk of hard clipping on demanding recordings, preserving transient detail while reducing unwanted harshness and distortion.

Maintain Low Noise and Musical Detail

Following digital conversion, the signal passes through a compact stereo analog output stage with capacitors and resistors selected for their audio performance. Symmetrical left- and right-channel circuitry, local power regulation and filtering help maintain low-noise performance, while short, direct signal routing minimizes interference to preserve subtle detail, spatial information and musical dynamics.

Disc Playback, Display, Controls and Supplied Accessories

A proven tray-loading CD mechanism and NXP-based servo control support dependable disc reading and consistent playback.
