Audio-Technica AT-HA5050H Hybrid Headphone Amplifier
Not all headphones are created equal. Each model has a distinct personality and musical identity. To enjoy a sound that best suits you and your headphones, we’ve developed Audio-Technica AT-HA5050H a headphone amp that offers four variable output impedances (two outputs each of 0.1, 33, 82, and 120 ohms). Because it uses transistors for the power amp stage and a pair of tubes for the preamp stage, the AT-HA5050H is a hybrid Hi-Res Audio headphone amplifier.The bipolar transistors in the preamp provide distortion-free Class A amplification that is potent enough to drive headphones of various impedances without any issues, while the tubes in the preamp provide warmth and depth to the music. Each component of the amplifier is fed by a separate power supply unit with quick recovery diodes and regulating circuitry in order to further optimize power supply in the amplifier.
Two analogue inputs—L/R RCA line jacks and L/R balanced XLR jacks—as well as two digital inputs—S/PDIF digital coaxial input and USB input with selectable Asynchronous and Adaptive modes—are provided on the AT-HA5050H. Modern digital audio converters (DACs) are designed to work with digital audio formats up to PCM 32-bit/384 kHz and DSD128. Classic analogue VU metres with a VU range selector switch, a sizable volume control knob, and an input attenuator switch are additional features.
