The Magnat SC53M Signature 500 is a great place to start if you want to get into audiophile hi-fi. Elaborate Chassis Technology

Our new hi-res module with two, yes two, fmax tweeters is at the heart of the fantastic high-frequency reproduction. Because it has a 1.2" dome with a very wide bead, it may work at a low crossover frequency and hence link flawlessly to the mid-range unit. The additional 34" super dome tweeter provides a frequency response that extends beyond 50 kHz. On the SC53M, it has good all-around dispersion characteristics. The Japan Audio Society has awarded the module the Hi-Res Seal in this configuration.

The woofers and subwoofers from FE Dynamics use specially coated diaphragms that are examined for interference resonance and tuned using laser technology, a process known as the Klippel method. A vented voice coil unit, also known as the speaker drive, ensures optimal cooling and as a result, maximum durability - even when things get really heated.

Outstanding Production Value

The low-resonance solid MDF casing provides the best sound conditions for the chassis. In the black ash variants, the Signature 500's baffle is finished in high-gloss black piano lacquer and the mocha finish is complimented by a silk-matt anthracite front panel. The SC53M speakers' appearance is enhanced with sturdy ornamental rings held in place by six screws. The fabric cover can be removed for a more modest look or one that reveals the technology. The crossover, which is constructed of high-quality components and uses 24 dB cut filters, is amplitude and phase-corrected and so allows exact control of each chassis. Bi-wiring and bi-amping, i.e. using different cables or amplifiers for bass and treble frequencies, are made easier with generously dimensioned terminals. The adoption of an Airflex port with a rounded reflex opening, which reduces flow noise, demonstrates the Signature 500's attention to detail.

Can be used in a variety of combinations

There are several variations of the SC53M Signature 500. As a result, fans of pure stereo playback can mix and match different setups, while home cinema fanatics can find the right match. The Signature 503 shelf-top speaker, two different size floor-standing loudspeakers, Signature 505 and 507, and the Signature Center 53 speaker make it possible to find the appropriate solution for each area and acoustic demand.
