Hertz SS15D2 SPL Show Series 12" Subwoofer
The SS15D2 subwoofers which have a 38 cm (15 in.) cone, are ready to awe fans with their ferocity. The suspension system which is reinforced by progressive double-layer spiders maintains performance over time, even when subjected to the high levels of use seen during Bass Wars events. Heat dissipation is critical for this type of application and it has been maximized thanks to careful engineering. The SS15D2 can handle the astonishing 2400 W peak power thanks to a strong 75 mm (3 in.) dual winding (2 + 2 ?) voice coil built in 4-layer configuration on a support with venting holes! The basket was created with maximum thermal dissipation and mechanical resilience in mind. The non-pressed paper cone with cotton fiber is the optimal compromise between rigidity and lightness, both of which are necessary for a high sensitivity value. Suspension and leadwires are expanded to resist the enormous ferrite engine's extremely high excursions. Push connections accept cables with a cross-section of up to 12 AWG for a practical and safe connection that can handle the high currents.
SS15D2 Features
- For a peak output of 2400 W, a 75 mm (3 in.) dual voice coil (2 + 2) was created in a 4-layer structure on a support with venting holes
- For optimum consistency of performance over time, use a double layer spider with a progressive profile
- Multilayer foam surround for maximum excursion, which is critical for producing high SPL during Bass Wars
- Suspension and leadwires are oversized to withstand extreme excursion
- For optimal control, an impressive large ferrite magnet assembly is used
- Push connections with 12 AWG high current Nickel plating for a practical and secure connection
- For optimal sensitivity, use a non-pressed paper cone with cotton fiber added
