Rockford Fosgate P3D2-10 Punch 10" P3 2-Ohm DVC Subwoofer
The Rockford Fosgate P3D2-10 is one of the best performing Punch series subwoofer. The P3 subwoofers now feature anodized aluminum cones and dustcaps along with unique spider venting to keep the motor cooler than previous versions. These feature VAST technology to increase surface cone area up to 25% and a FlexFit basket for extreme installations. Best of all, a new hybrid stamp-cast basket offers the best of both worlds by providing super strength while minimizing weight and resonance.
Designed for deeper, louder bass
Rockford Fosgate designed the P3D2-10 10" subwoofer to stay strong even when the bass gets hot. This Punch P3 sub features a rigid anodized aluminum cone that holds its shape through heavy play, while staying light and responsive. Rockford Fosgate uses a new technique to attach the oversized rubber surround to the cone that increases available cone area up to 25%, so this sub can push more air for even bigger bass.
Heat-sink cone
The aluminum cone acts as a giant heat sink, directing heat away from the copper-clad aluminum voice coils. Special venting keeps the voice coils cool, so you get incredibly consistent bass performance over time. This P3 sub features an extended pole piece and bumped backplate that leaves more room for heavy excursion, so it'll hit deeper lows without "bottoming out."
The dual 2-ohm voice coils allow you to wire the sub for 1-ohm impedance to get maximum power output, or for 4-ohm impedance if you're using multiple subs. The P3D2-10 sub works equally well in a sealed or ported enclosure, so you can choose the kind of bass you want for your system.
Anodized Aluminum Voice Coil Former
Rockford Fosgate P3D2-10 subwoofers use anodized aluminum voice coil formers that provide superior heat dissipation (up to 100° at full power levels). Unlike traditional plastic substitutions, aluminum acts like a heat-sink to quickly dissipate thermal build-up on the voice coil. This keeps subwoofers cool during high SPL conditions.
Stitched Tinsel Leads
Improved reliability and performance by reducing fatigue and also possible shorting.
CEA-2031
Power handling on Rockford Fosgate P3D2-10 conform to CEA-2031 industry standards.
VAST Surround - Subs
The Vertical Attach Surround Technique significantly increases the Rockford Fosgate P3D2-10 subwoofer's effective radiating cone area up to 25%.
Klippel Verified
Klippel is a speaker certification program allowing us to deliver the best possible subwoofers.
FlexFit Basket - Subwoofer
The slot mounted frame pattern allows fine-tuning of the Rockford Fosgate subwoofer's mounting position.
Subwoofer Crossovers
There are two operational types of crossovers, passive and also active. Passive crossovers (coils or inductors) are placed on the speaker leads between the amplifier and speaker. An active crossover is an electronic filter that separates the audio signal fed to different amplifiers. For optimum subwoofer performance. For example, we recommend using an active 80-100Hz low-pass crossover at 12dB/octave.
