Audio Technica VMN50SH Replacement Stylus for VM750SH
The Audio Technica VMN50SH Replacement Stylus from Audio-Technica is designed for use with the VM750SH Shibata Dual Moving Magnet Cartridge. The Shibata stylus provides improved surface contact with the record groove than an elliptical stylus does, resulting in the pickup of ultra-high frequencies with less groove stress and distortion. The Audio Technica VMN50SH is a direct replacement stylus for the VM750SH cartridge and features a Shibata Line Contact stylus. Shibata Line Contact styli Having a greater tracking ability than an elliptical stylus, the line contact styli will have a deeper contact area to the vinyl record groove. This enables the stylus to fully reproduce all content of the vinyl record with reduced stylus and groove wear.
REPLACEMENT STYLUS FOR VMN50SH Even the finest diamond stylus becomes worn after an extended period of play. The styli in the VM cartridges are no different. But it is easy to replace the stylus and continue to use your cartridge. Audio Technica's renewed VM cartridges have 7 styli and 3 types of bodies to choose from. Not only is it not necessary to buy an entirely new cartridge, but you can also enjoy the experience of upgrading your stylus or trying a new cartridge/stylus combination. Replacement styli are precision manufactured to restore A-T cartridges (and many other popular brands) to their original performance. The illustration(above) represents the basic method of stylus removal and replacement. The stylus must be fully seated on the body for proper performance. To remove old stylus (needle), hold the cartridge in one hand, grasp the plastic stylus housing with thumb and forefinger, and pull away from the cartridge. The stylus assembly comes away at a slight angle, as indicated by the arrow. To install replacement stylus, insert the new stylus assembly into the cartridge at a slight angle, so the hook at the end of the stylus fits into the slot in the cartridge body. The stylus assembly should click into place when fully seated on the cartridge. The stylus must be fully seated on the body for proper operation. Audio-Technica has been perfecting the art of transducer technology since our first hand-crafted phono cartridge in 1962.
