Apple CarPlay requires iPhone 5 or newer with the latest version of iOS.

Android Auto

The DMH-W4660NEX also features Android Auto, which extends the Android platform into the car in a way that’s purpose-built for driving. Android Auto automatically brings you useful information and organizes it into simple cards that appear just when they’re needed. It’s designed to minimize distraction so you can stay focused on the road ahead.
Android Auto is compatible with Android phones running Android 5.0 (Lollipop) or later. Android Auto may not be available on all devices.

CarAVAssist

The Pioneer DMH-W4660NEX in-dash receiver is compatible with the CarAVAssist App which supports web browsing, home screen customization and other functions. You can bookmark websites that you want to enjoy in your car, register your favorite sports teams to receive real-time game updates, make notifications settings for your smartphone, and more. The app also allows you to customize your receiver’s home screen, including adding your own background image, and easily performing OTA Firmware Updates.

Keep your factory features and expand your level of in-vehicle connectivity with Pioneer NEX and iDatalink Maestro RR. When your DMH-W4660NEX receiver is installed in a compatible vehicle using the iDatalink Maestro RR interface (sold separately), you’ll be able to enjoy the performance and features of the DMH-W4660NEX receiver plus touchscreen control over key factory audio features.The DMH-W4660NEX supports factory functions via the iDatalink Maestro RR interface including: Steering Wheel Controls, Media Player (including the factory AUX-in and USB ports), Hands-Free Telephone, Voice Commands, Satellite Radio, and Secondary Display Support.

Hands-Free Calling and Audio Streaming

Stay safe and obey local hands-free laws with built-in Bluetooth (HFP). Easily pair a Bluetooth enabled phone to the DMH-W4660NEX without having to go through complicated settings. When a registered Bluetooth device is in proximity to the receiver, the auto connection function automatically pairs the two units.From hands-free calling, wireless audio streaming (A2DP) with artist, album, and song search*, simple pairing, and control audio (AVRCP profile), Bluetooth® wireless technology has made life in the vehicle much more convenient.
The DMH-W4660NEX with Bluetooth also includes superior call quality reception using Wideband Speech Handsfree Profile 1.6. Wideband Speech nearly doubles the bandwidth of frequencies of a normal Bluetooth call (when compared to calls without Wideband Speech)**.Other features include the ability to browse music libraries on smartphones wirelessly.

Hi-Res Audio File Playback via USB

Enjoy High-Resolution Audio music playback just as the musicians intended with higher than CD quality. With the Pioneer NEX DMH-W4660NEX you can play up to 5.6 MHz DSD (Direct Stream Digital) files, and up to 192 kHz/24-bit WAV and FLAC files from an MSC formatted USB device.

Back Up Camera Input Ready

Back Up Camera input enables you to add a rear-view camera, with the system automatically switching to a full-screen image of the rear view when the car is placed in reverse gear. The full-screen image returns to the source screen last in use when the vehicle is taken out of reverse gear.

Second Camera Input

The DMH-W4660NEX has an additional input where you can add a second camera. The second camera view can be activated at any time and has many potential uses including monitoring a tow vehicle, providing a side view for better lane visibility, or as an alternate rear view if the vehicle’s backup camera view isn’t available. Downloading the latest firmware allows the camera to show inverse perspective mapping for additional installation flexibility. This feature comes in handy when positioning a second camera on another area of the vehicle for a mirror imaging perspective from left to right.
