The Pro-Ject PJ65180668 Debut III record player includes a Pro-Ject 8.6 tonearm and an Ortofon OM 5E moving-magnet cartridge. The first Debut turntable, introduced in the late 1990s, was a revolution for the hi-fi industry. The Pro-Ject PJ65180668 Debut III, built to set new standards for the coming decade! The most obvious improvement is the inclusion of a Carbon tube for the tonearm. Which increases stiffness and decreases unwanted resonance. Together with other improvements, an increase in platter size and weight for smooth rotation. Clear and direct overall sound quality.
The approved belt drive design offers a low noise AC motor with effective motor decoupling (utilizing TPE-damping) and also ultra precision frequency DC-driven AC generator (like the Speed Box) for ultimate speed stability without unwanted vibration. The Phono RCA cable, Connect it E, is a high-quality semi-balanced interconnect cable with gold-plated RCA connectors, guarantees the perfect connection for the Pro-Ject PJ65180668.
A quiet running AC motor with a two-step pulley drives the hub and platter via a flat-ground belt. The medium density fiber plinth stands on four feet which act as shock absorbers. The motor is decoupled from the plinth to reduce vibration transmission. Also The platter is a sandwich construction utilizing the hub, a sheet-steel platter weighing 1.3kg and a felt mat.
