What is AI Deterrence (AID)?
AI Deterrence (AID) is an automated audio response service that utilizes artificial intelligence to issue customized verbal warnings to intruders based on their clothing and surroundings. When an individual enters a property monitored by Alarm.com cameras, the system immediately triggers audio alerts and flashing lights. Seconds later, AID delivers a tailored verbal warning, such as, “Hey, you! In the black shirt and blue jeans! You are trespassing on a loading dock. Leave immediately.” This personalized approach significantly enhances the deterrent effect, preventing potential property damage or theft.
Enhanced Perimeter Defense Capabilities
According to Dan Kerzner, President of Platforms Business at Alarm.com, “We have significantly expanded the perimeter defense capabilities of our video-based security systems and the speed that they can be deployed to deter crime at the perimeter of a property, rather than at the doorstep.” This advancement allows for more sophisticated and adaptive crime-deterrence technology to be accessible to a broader market.
Integration with Remote Video Monitoring (RVM)
AID can function as a standalone service or be integrated with Alarm.com's Remote Video Monitoring (RVM) Console to create a comprehensive perimeter defense system. With RVM, monitoring station operators receive immediate alerts when a person or vehicle enters a restricted area. They can then assess the situation and intervene through system hardware onsite, including by communicating through Alarm.com cameras.

The effectiveness of AID and RVM is further enhanced by the Outdoor Floodlight Camera (ADC-V729), designed for the professional security market. This camera offers 4MP video quality, Two-Way Talkdown, and 3,000 Lumen floodlights for customizable lighting options. The floodlight can automatically respond to threats by activating red and blue warning lights and playing siren warning sounds when people or vehicles are detected.
