Product Description
Blustream BLUARC HDMI Bluetooth Audio Extractor And Embedder
The Blustream BLUARC is a multi-format audio switching device that embeds or de-embeds and routes audio between different source and sink devices while HDMI video is being distributed. Its multiple audio routing options make it suitable for residential and commercial applications where Bluetooth connectivity is required.
Multi-format audio switching and routing
Designed to move audio between HDMI, Bluetooth, optical digital, and analogue L/R devices, the BLUARC supports both embedding and de-embedding for versatile system designs.
- Supports HDMI embedded audio, external L/R analogue audio, optical digital audio, Bluetooth audio, and HDMI ARC audio inputs
- Distributes audio via Bluetooth, HDMI output, HDMI audio-only output, HDMI ARC (soundbar), optical digital, and L/R analogue outputs
- HDMI audio breakout to Bluetooth (2ch PCM), HDMI output, HDMI audio only, HDMI soundbar output, analogue L/R (2ch PCM), and optical digital outputs concurrently
- Analogue L/R and optical digital audio embedding and de-embedding
HDMI ARC integration for soundbars
BLUARC accepts HDMI ARC (Audio Return Channel) and routes it to multiple output types for straightforward soundbar and system integration.
- ARC to Bluetooth audio (2ch PCM), HDMI audio-only output, HDMI soundbar output, analogue L/R (2ch PCM), and optical digital outputs concurrently
Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity and control
Built-in Bluetooth 5.0 enables wireless audio distribution with codec flexibility and volume management.
- Bluetooth 5.0 output; supports SBC/MP3/AAC/APT-X/APTX-LL/APTX-HD (44.1–48 kHz, 16/24-bit, 2-channel only)
- Bluetooth 5.0 output and L/R analogue output support volume adjustment
- When two Bluetooth devices are connected, the Bluetooth codec type will be SBC
- Audio performance and latency are subject to Bluetooth device/codec compatibility; when APTX-LL is used, the number of connections is limited to one Bluetooth receiving device only
4K UHD pass-through and audio format compatibility
Video signals pass through with full UHD support while maintaining audio format compatibility in line with HDMI specifications.
- HDMI 2.0b 18Gbps 4K UHD 60Hz 4:4:4 pass-through including HDR
- Supports industry standard video resolutions including VGA–WUXGA and 480i–4K
- Bitstream passthrough of multichannel surround sound, including object-based audio formats, in line with HDMI specifications
Comprehensive control and integration
Multiple control pathways and integration tools streamline setup in a wide range of systems.
- Control via front panel, IR, RS-232, TCP/IP, Web-GUI, GPIO, and CEC
- Supplied with Blustream 5V IR receiver; 3rd-party drivers available for major control brands
- HDCP 2.3 compliant with advanced EDID management
Frequently Asked Questions
-
What audio inputs does the BLUARC support?
It supports HDMI embedded audio, external L/R analogue audio, optical digital audio, Bluetooth audio, and HDMI ARC audio inputs.
-
What audio outputs are available?
Outputs include Bluetooth, HDMI output, HDMI audio-only, HDMI ARC (soundbar), optical digital, and L/R analogue. HDMI audio breakout and ARC can be routed to these outputs concurrently where specified.
-
Does it pass through 4K HDR video?
Yes. It supports HDMI 2.0b 18Gbps 4K UHD 60Hz 4:4:4 pass-through including HDR, and industry standard resolutions from VGA–WUXGA and 480i–4K.
-
Which Bluetooth codecs are supported?
Bluetooth 5.0 supports SBC/MP3/AAC/APT-X/APTX-LL/APTX-HD at 44.1–48 kHz, 16/24-bit, 2-channel only. When two Bluetooth devices are connected, the codec will be SBC, and using APTX-LL limits connections to one Bluetooth receiving device. Audio performance and latency depend on device/codec compatibility.
-
What control options are available for integration?
Control is available via the front panel, IR, RS-232, TCP/IP, Web-GUI, GPIO, and CEC, with 3rd-party drivers for major control brands. A Blustream 5V IR receiver is supplied.
-
Is it compliant with content protection standards?
Yes. It is HDCP 2.3 compliant and includes advanced EDID management.
