Blustream HMX44-18G-KIT 4x4 HDBaseT3 4K 60Hz 4:4:4 ARC Matrix
The Blustream HMX44-18G-KIT is a 4x4 HDBaseT3 matrix kit that distributes uncompressed HDMI 2.0 4K60 4:4:4 video, HDR and advanced audio formats over a single CAT6A cable up to 100m, preserving bit-for-bit picture and sound for critical viewing areas.
Delivers bit-for-bit 4K60 4:4:4 and HDR fidelity
Because the matrix uses uncompressed, unconverted HDMI over HDBaseT3™ technology and supports the HDMI 2.0 18Gbps specification, it transmits full 4K 60Hz 4:4:4 video without chroma subsampling or compression. This retains HDR metadata and high dynamic range formats including HDR10/10+ and Dolby Vision, ensuring sources are displayed with the original color, detail, and timing.
Flexible routing with simultaneous HDMI and HDBaseT outputs
Because the HMX44-18G provides 4 HDMI inputs and 4 HDBaseT outputs with Output 1 offering a simultaneous HDMI and HDBaseT feed, users can route any source to any zone while also feeding a local HDMI display. Video smart scaling on HDBaseT outputs adjusts output resolution as needed, providing correct display formats per zone without additional scalers.
Independent, installation-grade audio routing and ARC support
Because the matrix includes a dedicated 14x4 audio matrix independent of video routing, installers can route audio sources and returns separately from video. The system accepts audio breakouts from HDMI, optical, and analogue inputs and supports major HDMI audio formats such as Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Atmos, Dolby Digital Plus and DTS-HD Master Audio, enabling full multichannel and object-based audio distribution. ARC (HDMI or Optical) is supported when paired with RX18G receivers, allowing audio return from displays to the central system.
Integrated control, network passthrough and Power over Cable (PoC)
Because the product includes a web interface module, RS-232, IR, TCP/IP control, and Ethernet passthrough, third-party control systems integrate directly with the matrix and connected RX18G receivers. The unit provides PoC to the supplied receivers (24V DC, 0.75A per port), reducing the need for local power supplies at display locations and simplifying installations. Advanced EDID management and HDCP 2.3 compliance prevent handshake and content protection issues during system setup.
Designed for professional installation
Because the HMX44-18G is built as a 1U rack-mountable unit with an internal universal PSU and HDBaseT power outputs, it fits standard AV racks and supplies power to attached receivers. The HDBaseT3 specification requires CAT6A F/UTP or better cabling to achieve the full uncompressed 18Gbps capability; CAT6 is not recommended and CAT5e is unsupported. Transmission distance depends on video format, cable quality, and installation environment, with uncompressed 4K60 4:4:4 supported up to 100m under recommended conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
What cable type is required to achieve uncompressed 4K60 4:4:4 to 100m?
Use CAT6A F/UTP or better to meet the HDBaseT3 bandwidth requirements. CAT6 is not recommended and CAT5e is unsupported. Actual maximum distance depends on the video format, cable quality, and installation environment.
-
Does the matrix support HDR formats and Dolby Vision?
Yes. The HMX44-18G transmits HDR10/10+ and Dolby Vision over uncompressed HDMI, preserving HDR metadata and color fidelity when connected with compatible sources and displays.
-
Can the matrix power the RX receivers?
Yes. The matrix provides Power over Cable (PoC) at 24V DC, 0.75A per HDBaseT port to power the supplied RX18G receivers, which reduces the need for local power at each display location.
-
Which audio formats are supported?
The system supports all known HDMI audio formats, including Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Atmos, Dolby Digital Plus and DTS-HD Master Audio, enabling full multichannel and object-based audio distribution across zones.
-
How can the matrix be controlled and integrated with third‑party systems?
Control options include the front panel, IR, iOS/Android app, RS-232, TCP/IP and the built-in web interface. The unit also provides Ethernet passthrough and RS-232/IR on HDBaseT outputs for seamless third-party integration.
-
Is ARC supported for audio return from displays?
Yes. ARC support (HDMI ARC or Optical ARC) is available when the matrix is used with RX18G receivers, allowing audio from displays to be returned to the central audio matrix.
