Paradigm X-500 Multi-Purpose Power Amplifier
Configurable as either a two-channel Stereo or bridged single-channel Mono amplifier, the X-500's slim form-factor, flexible inputs and selectable DSP presents make it the ideal choice for your custom installation applications.
Slim Form Factor
With a form factor of 1U high and a half-rack width, X-500 allows four high power channels in a single rack space. In addition, the X-500 includes both rack mount ears and traditional feet to support both types on installations. For units mounted side by side, an additional rack kit accessory (X500CB) can be purchased to accommodate this.
The All-New Two-Channel Paradigm X-500 amplifier is the perfect complement to Paradigm's Home, Pro and Elite in-wall and in-ceiling speakers, the Defiance Custom Subwoofers and their Stylus, Rock and Garden Oasis outdoor solutions. Configurable as either a two-channel Stereo, dual Mono, or as a bridged single-channel Mono amplifier, the X-500's slim form-factor, flexible inputs and selectable DSP presents make installation and setup a breeze.
The Paradigm X-500 is truly the jack of all trades. When bridged, it offers up to 500-Watts of power on demand. Similarly, when used in its two-channel configuration, the Paradigm X-500 outputs up to 140W (8?) or 250W (4?), making it the ideal solution for your custom installation needs.
DSP Presets
the Paradigm X-500's User-selectable DSP presets can unlock the true potential of all Paradigm's Defiance Custom Subwoofers and outdoor products by ensuring optimal performance and operation conditions. Paradigm Defiance Custom Subwoofers have several DSP preset options available, allowing for different system configurations, multiple subs, and low pass filter options. Use it to power a pair of subwoofers in the home theatre or drive a couple of outdoor speakers in the backyard—the perfect balance of flexibility and performance, only from Paradigm.
Additional features include a 12-volt trigger (in and out), rear volume control, detachable power cord and phoenix style speaker connectors for up to 12 gauge wire for ease of installation.
Power Density
Planning on using multiple Paradigm X-500s? We’ve got you covered. When multiple amplifiers are required, you won't have to lose that precious rack space. An optional connector bracket (sold separately) is available to mount two units side by side in the same rack space. With a form factor of 1U high and a half-rack width, X-500 allows 4 high power channels in a single rack space.
X-500 includes both racks mount ears and feet to support cabinet installations.
Optional Accessories:
X500CB: Mounts 2 X-500's in a single 1U rack space.
Powerful Pairings
Powerful Pairings: Using multiple subwoofers, especially in a Home Theater, has many benefits. Multiple subs provide more even bass coverage across the room so that every seat receives smoother and more consistent bass making sure that there are no "bad seats." In addition to this, by spreading the bass across multiple subs, each sub shares part of the bass load instead of relying on just a single sub. By sharing the work across multiple subwoofers, distortion and potential stress on the components is lowered, resulting in more effortless sound.
The most obvious benefit of increasing the subwoofer count, is that the potential maximum output level is raised, making sure that you have plenty of "room to spare" in the system to allow for those dynamic movie explosions or dramatic musical passages. In a nutshell, the more subs the better! X-500 has onboard DSP presets optimized for both single and dual subwoofer configurations, meaning you can run up to 2 Paradigm custom subwoofers off a single X-500, and with the optional connector bracket you can fit 2 X-500s in a single rack space bringing the potential to run 4 subs off a single rack space!
The Perfect Match
Paradigm engineers have designed optimized DSP presets for Paradigm's architectural in-wall subwoofers and outdoor products to provide the highest levels of performance and reliability. While most installations will be able to use the bass management within the AVR or AV Processor, we also understand there are situations where a separate low pass filter may be desirable.
Paradigm Defiance Custom Subwoofers have several DSP preset options available, allowing for different system configurations, multiple subs, and low pass filter options to help support the needs of your installation.
Input Flexibility
The Paradigm X-500 features a host of inputs, including Stereo RCA and selectable Digital Coax or Digital Optical. This provides plenty of flexibility to connect your favorite source as a stand-alone system or off a second zone output for distributed audio and even effects channel preamp output for object based systems.
In addition, X-500's dedicated Subwoofer (LFE) Input makes it incredibly easy to power custom subwoofers, like their DCS208IW3 and DCS208FR3 , by connecting directly to the "subwoofer output" of your AVR or AV Processor. This allows X-500 to use the bass management in your AVR or AV Processor with no additional processing applied. Alternatively, the Stereo RCA input can be utilized if a low pass filter is required.
Keeping Cool Under Pressure
What's performance without long-term reliability? The Paradigm X-500 features a robust, quiet, dynamic cooling system to keep things operating smoothly under extreme playback conditions. The dynamic cooling system will engage with zero intervention required to keep components cool under load. Maximum reliability, minimal noise.
