Technics Direct Drive Turntable SL-50C
The Technics Direct Drive Turntable SL-50C is a direct drive turntable tuned for home listening, pairing an included 2M Red cartridge with a built-in MM phono equalizer for immediate vinyl playback. It supports 33⅓, 45, and 78 rpm to access a wider range of records.

Accurate, Maintenance-Free Rotation
Technics’ direct drive mechanism directly spins the platter with strong torque and has evolved with a coreless motor that eliminates cogging, delivering accurate, maintenance-free rotation. Digital control further elevates rotation accuracy through:
- Precise speed detection
- Per-unit calibration during production
- Digitally optimized motor drive signals
Precision Tonearm and Cartridge
The design inherits the traditional S-shape tonearm and ensures high tracking performance via micron-level precision engineering. The included 2M Red cartridge features an elliptical stylus that delivers clear sound and is precisely matched with the built-in phono EQ for optimal performance.
Rigid Platter and Vibration Control
Rigid rotation and precise torque control are achieved by a 1.26kg die-cast aluminum platter with reinforced ribs and a directly mounted motor magnet. Newly tuned insulators provide excellent vibration resistance and reduced howling, with rubber hardness optimized to shift resonance outside the audible range.
Low-Noise Circuit Design
Separate PCBs for power, motor control, and phono EQ are placed away from the tonearm with crossover-free wiring to minimize sound distortion. The built-in MM phono equalizer, optimally tuned to the included cartridge, along with premium components and case, delivers clear sound with minimal noise.
Natural MDF Construction
The cabinet uses MDF with fine layered fibers, offering quiet warmth and subtle presence to bring harmony to a living space. Available colors include Black, Terracotta Brown, and Gray.
