Keep the features of your car.

You can install a new car stereo in some late-model Chrysler, Fiat, Ford, General Motors, Honda/Acura, Subaru, Toyota/Scion, and Volkswagen vehicles while keeping your steering wheel audio controls and other factory conveniences you've grown accustomed to using iDatalink's Maestro ADS-MRR2 module and the appropriate interface harness for your vehicle. A significant improvement over earlier generations, setup through Bluetooth from your smartphone or other device simply takes a few minutes. Additionally, a separate Maestro vehicle-specific wiring harness is required to connect your new receiver to the ADS-MRR2 module and the wiring in your car. We will automatically offer this harness and the ADS-MRR2 module at a discounted price on your way to the Cart when you buy a new vehicle stereo.

Here's how it functions.

Follow the instructions on www.idatalink.com/maestro to connect the Maestro to your computer using the included USB cable or to your smartphone or other device through Bluetooth. After being "flashed," the device is ready to use. The vehicle-specific Maestro harness (available separately) is then connected to your new receiver's wire using either soldering or crimping, just like you would with any wiring harness or wiring adaptor.

Keeps the audio controls on the steering wheel.

You may use your factory-installed steering wheel audio controls in conjunction with your new receiver thanks to the ADS-MRR2 module. Each factory button can be given a specific radio function using the user-friendly web programming interface. Even better, each factory button can be given a second "press and hold" radio function, thus doubling the range of control. The firmware and software of the module can easily be updated using a wireless Bluetooth connection.

Using a car audio that is iDatalink compliant will preserve your factory functionality.

If you purchase a compatible receiver from Kenwood, JVC, Pioneer, Sony, or Alpine, you'll appreciate its excellent performance as well as smooth touchscreen management of the majority of the original features in some vehicles (see Details for specific functions and installation notes). Along with the car stereo you've chosen, you'll also see a list of these features as you head to the Cart. You may also add extra functions like performance gauges, climate settings, and parking assistance that show up on your new receiver's touchscreen with most iDatalink-compatible vehicle stereos.

Command post

Three programmable outputs on the ADS-MRR2 allow you to operate relay-driven aftermarket accessories from an in-dash Kenwood, JVC, Alpine, Sony, or Pioneer receiver that supports the iDatalink Serial Port. In addition to setting Delay On and Delay Off durations for each output, these outputs can be separately configured to Latch, Toggle, Follow a CAN signal in the automobile (firmware dependent), or have a bespoke output configuration. One of these outputs can also be controlled by a steering wheel control button from the car. You can connect to specific Escort radar detectors using the ADS-specialized MRR2's connector for radar detector integration (sold separately).

Car stereos incompatible with iDatalink

You will typically be able to use your factory amplifier and steering wheel controls with car stereos that are not iDatalink compatible, although retained functions vary depending on the vehicle. On your route to the Cart, you will once more view a list of features.
