iFi Audio 0301006 Pro iDSD Signature DAC Streamer Headphone Amp (0301006)
The iFi Audio 0301006 Pro iDSD Signature is a reference-class flagship DAC that also functions as a DAC/preamp and network streamer, with the ability to drive many headphones directly. It is designed for listeners who want music delivered at the highest quality, including professional-grade DSD remastering and extensive sonic tailoring.
Flagship conversion with quad DAC architecture
Powered by a quad-stack of Burr Brown DACs, the Pro iDSD Signature achieves unmatched linearity and impeccable channel separation. Inspired by the Philips TDA1541A, it combines dynamic punch and slam with superior low-level linearity for exceptional detail.
- Quad-core DAC architecture in an interleaved configuration
- XMOS XU216 X-Core 200 processes incoming digital data and enables support for MP3, 32-bit/768kHz PCM, DSD512, 2xDXD, and full MQA decoding
Professional-grade DSD1024 remastering at home
A custom-coded Crysopeia FPGA Digital Engine brings mastering-house style remastering to the listener, transforming files to sound closer to a professionally remastered recording. When desired, it can upconvert PCM and DSD to very high-rate DSD.
- Upconversion options to DSD512 and DSD1024
Sonic tailoring: solid-state, tube, and advanced filters
Two fully balanced Class A circuit modes—discrete solid-state or tube—can be selected in real time. For those who prefer additional warmth, Tube+ mode boosts 2nd‑order harmonics by 6 dB for an even more fluid, musical sound.
- Hand‑selected, matched NOS GE5670 valves for tube mode
- Digital filters: GTO, Bit‑Perfect, Bit‑Perfect+, Apodising, Transient Aligned
- Fully balanced Class A amplifier stage with adjustable gain
Streaming and connectivity flexibility
Play high-resolution music wirelessly via Airplay or DLNA/UPnP, or go wired via Ethernet. The Pro iDSD Signature supports a wide range of sources and convenient control.
- Stream from Tidal, Spotify, Napster, QQ Music and more
- DLNA network audio playback with smartphones, tablets, and Windows/Linux computers
- Wired playback from a router or NAS via Ethernet
- Play from HDDs, USB memory sticks, or SDHC cards
- Headphone outputs: Single‑Ended 6.3mm, S‑Balanced 3.5mm, and Balanced 4.4mm
- App control for convenient operation
Signature upgrades and cleaner power
The Signature edition advances the original Pro iDSD with a darker sonic background and punchier bass. Its re‑crafted power supply board and included iPower Elite focus on lowering noise for purer playback.
- Upgraded power supply design with up to 300x lower noise
- Matched NOS GE5670 tubes
- USB1.0 support for PS4/PS5
- New aluminum remote included
Flexible roles in your system
Use the Pro iDSD Signature as a standalone unit, a DAC/preamp, and a network streamer. It also has a gain stage/line driver that is sufficiently powerful to drive many headphones directly.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Is Bit‑perfect+ available?
Bit‑perfect+ is only available for sample rates of 96kHz or lower. If a different sample rate (e.g., 192kHz) is sent, there is no Bit‑perfect+ option.
-
Is it affected by noise on the USB line?
Like any USB device, it can be affected by packet errors. It is not affected by noise on USB power (it does not use USB power) or by ground/Earth loops via USB or other inputs because it uses galvanic isolation.
-
Does it include a headphone amplifier?
There is no dedicated headphone amplifier. It has a gain stage/line driver that can drive many headphones directly, but this is a compromise compared to a dedicated headphone amplifier such as the Pro iCAN/Pro iCAN Signature.
-
Does the fixed output bypass the analog pot, and is the tube used on the DAC’s output stage?
Yes on both.
-
Are external USB memory sticks supported?
Some SSD/USB memory sticks will work powered from the “A” (host) interface, but this cannot be guaranteed because some drives may require up to 1A. If in doubt, add iDefencer+ and iPower to provide power to the drive USB.
-
Does it support 5 GHz Wi‑Fi?
No. Only 2.4 GHz is supported.
-
What do the front panel LED colours indicate?
Green = Warming Up; White = Solid State; Orange = Tube Mode; Red = Protection Mode.
