JBL Club 64CTP 6.5" 2-Way Component Car Speakers with Adjustable Tweeter Pods
The JBL Club 64CTP combines a compact 6.5-inch component speaker design with high sensitivity, adjustable tweeter positioning, and strong power handling. Built for factory audio upgrades as well as full aftermarket systems, this speaker set gives you separate woofers and tweeters for more control over how your music reaches the listening position.
Plus One Woofer Cone Architecture
The JBL Club 64CTP uses patented Plus One woofer cone technology to provide more overall cone area than other speakers of the same size. As a result, the larger effective surface area helps increase sensitivity, improve low-frequency output, and add more musical character.
Think of the cone like a larger paddle moving through water. With more surface area working inside the same general speaker size, it can move more air while maintaining the compact dimensions needed for vehicle applications.
Clean Sound with a Durable Polypropylene Cone
Each JBL Club 64CTP woofer uses an acoustically damped polypropylene cone designed to reduce unwanted resonance. Therefore, the speaker focuses on producing cleaner sound rather than adding unnecessary vibration to the music.
The cone also features UV resistance and is designed to withstand the heat and humidity commonly found inside a vehicle. That combination makes the speaker well suited to the demanding environment of everyday car audio.
Adjustable Tweeter Pods for Better Positioning
One of the most distinctive features of the JBL Club 64CTP is its included tweeter pod system. After mounting, the tweeter pod can still move up or down, letting you adjust its angle for different listening positions.
Why does tweeter direction matter? High-frequency sound can change depending on where the tweeter points. The adjustable pod gives you additional control over its orientation instead of locking the tweeter into one fixed angle.
I-Mount Tweeter Mounting System
The JBL Club 64CTP also includes JBL's I-Mount tweeter mounting system. It provides both flush-mount and surface-mount hardware, giving you several ways to position the separate tweeters.
The flush-mount configuration uses a 1-3/4-inch cutout and a 1-inch mounting depth. Once positioned, the tweeter can angle up to ±40 degrees. Included locknuts help hold the assembly securely, while the tweeter can be replaced without removing the complete mounting assembly.
Starfish Tweeter Mounting Adapter
For even more placement flexibility, the JBL Club 64CTP includes Starfish tweeter mounting adapters. These adapters make it possible to position the tweeters behind factory grilles or in locations such as the A-pillar.
Each Starfish adapter includes six break-off mounting tabs to support different mounting configurations. The tweeters can also work with surface-mount or flush-mount arrangements, giving the component system several positioning options.
Adjustable Tweeter Output Level
The JBL Club 64CTP gives you a choice between 0dB and +3dB tweeter output levels. This adjustment lets you optimize system linearity according to the tweeter location and overall speaker configuration.
For example, different tweeter positions can affect how strongly the high frequencies reach you. Instead of providing only one fixed output setting, JBL gives you two levels to better match the selected placement.
Larger Magnet and Higher Power Handling
JBL equipped the Club lineup with a larger magnet to support increased power handling. The JBL Club 64CTP handles 70 watts RMS and up to 210 watts peak, providing useful capability for both factory upgrades and more complete aftermarket audio systems.
The speakers also feature a 3.0-ohm nominal impedance and 92dB sensitivity at 2.83V. Together, these specifications support the high-sensitivity design that JBL developed for the Club series.
55Hz to 20kHz Frequency Response
The JBL Club 64CTP covers a frequency range from 55Hz through 20kHz. The separate woofer and tweeter arrangement allows the component system to divide responsibilities between the drivers rather than asking one speaker to handle the entire range alone.
With two included crossovers, the package provides dedicated components for managing the woofer and tweeter sections of the system.
