Pro-Ject X2 B True Balanced Turntable
The Pro-Ject X2 B is a hi-fi turntable designed for True Balanced Connection, enabling an interference-free phono signal. Using this connection with a balanced phono stage increases dynamics and lowers noise. The X2 B includes mini XLR and RCA outputs and arrives factory-aligned with an Ortofon Quintet Red MC cartridge to access the entirety of the balanced signal.
Lower noise and higher dynamics with True Balanced Connection
Balanced audio removes picked up noise and interferences, which is critical because the phono signal is highly amplified. Cartridges are balanced signal transducers by nature, and the X2 B is built to take advantage of this architecture for improved signal-to-noise ratios.
- True Balanced Connection from cartridge to phono preamplifier
- Mini XLR output for fully balanced phono connection
- RCA outputs for single-ended setups
- Includes semi-balanced Connect it Phono E RCA cable
- Upgrade with a fully balanced mini XLR–to–mini XLR cable (available separately)
- Pairs with balanced phono stages such as Pro-Ject Phono Box S3 B or DS3 B for fully balanced signal transmission
- True Balanced concept with X2 B and Phono Box S3 B awarded EISA Best Product (best Vinyl System)

Precision speed control and simplified operation
A sophisticated DC/AC generator board supplies clean and stable power to the motor. Playback speeds are switched electronically for quick, reliable changes.
- 33/45/78 RPM with one-button electronic speed change
- Clean, stable motor drive for consistent performance
9'' carbon–aluminum tonearm with setup flexibility
The longer 9-inch carbon/aluminum sandwich tonearm improves internal damping and mass, making it an excellent match for low-compliance MC cartridges. It is finished as a one-piece arm without a resonance-inducing headshell and offers full adjustability.
- Azimuth and VTA fully adjustable
- One-piece tonearm; carbon/aluminum sandwich construction
- TPE-damped counterweight
Resonance control and isolation
Mechanical noise and vibration are addressed across the design for optimal performance.
- 30 mm, 2 kg resonance-free acrylic platter
- Improved motor suspension: motor chassis balanced and decoupled via a precision-tuned TPE belt
- Three damped, height-adjustable aluminum feet to reduce the risk of acoustical feedback
Crafted in Europe with refined finish options
Made in Europe by a turntable factory with decades of experience. Finish options include High Gloss, Satin, and Real Wood.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
What is True Balanced Connection on the X2 B?
It uses a balanced audio path to remove picked up noise and interferences. Because cartridges are balanced signal transducers, the X2 B can deliver increased dynamics, less noise, and improved signal-to-noise ratios when used with balanced cabling and a balanced phono stage.
-
How do I connect the X2 B for a fully balanced setup?
Use the mini XLR output with a balanced mini XLR–to–mini XLR phono cable (available separately) into a balanced phono stage such as the Pro-Ject Phono Box S3 B or DS3 B. The turntable includes a semi-balanced RCA cable for conventional connections.
-
Which cartridge is included?
The X2 B comes factory aligned with an Ortofon Quintet Red MC cartridge. An MC cartridge is required to access the entirety of the balanced signal due to the internal wiring of MM cartridges.
-
What playback speeds are supported?
33, 45, and 78 RPM with electronic speed change at the push of a single button. A DC/AC generator board provides clean and stable power to the motor.
-
What are the key tonearm features?
A 9-inch carbon/aluminum sandwich tonearm with a one-piece design, adjustable azimuth and VTA, and a TPE-damped counterweight. Its increased mass suits low-compliance MC cartridges.
-
What vibration-control elements are used?
A 2 kg acrylic platter, an improved motor suspension decoupled with a precision-tuned TPE belt, and three damped, height-adjustable aluminum feet to reduce acoustical feedback.
-
What accessories are included?
15V DC power supply, dust cover, Connect it E Phono cable, and a felt mat.
-
Where is it made and what finishes are available?
It is made in Europe, with finishes including High Gloss, Satin, and Real Wood.
