Rockford Fosgate R2SD4-10 Prime 10" R2 4-Ohm DVC Shallow Subwoofer
Even in small automobiles with limited room, Rockford Fosgate R2SD4-10 shallow-mount subs offer pleasing bass. These low-profile subs may work in incredibly compact enclosures thanks to a distinctive elevated motor arrangement that can handle considerable power.
The R2SD4-10 subwoofer has a 10-watt output "To hammer out fat, deep notes, a mica-injected polypropylene cone works with a high-density polyfoam surround. With a mounting depth of only 3-1/2 inches, this shallow-mount workhorse can handle up to 200 watts RMS ". The tinsel leads that transmit the signal to the voice coils are stitched directly into the cone by Rockford Fosgate, ensuring they will withstand heavy use. To keep this subcool, the stamped solid-steel frame has the same ventilation as standard-mount Rockford Fosgate subs.
With dual 4-ohm voice coils, you can wire this sub for 2- or 8-ohm impedance, providing you with more options when it comes to system setup. This Rockford Fosgate R2SD4-10 Prime sub is optimized for sealed and ported enclosures, allowing you to choose the bass you want in your vehicle.
Shallow Mount Design
The Rockford Fosgate R2SD4-10 Prime R2 Shallow Subwoofer is built and engineered with a significantly smaller motor assembly, allowing it to fit in shallower enclosures and tighter placements in your vehicle.
Dual 4-ohm Voice Coils
Dual 4-ohm Voice Coils: This woofer has dual 4-ohm voice coils to give you more wiring options. The woofer presents a 2-ohm load when the voice coils are wired in parallel, and an 8-ohm load when they are wired in series.
Spring Post Assembly
Compression input terminals with 16-gauge stitched tinsel lead wires are affixed to the woofer's spring post assembly. Pin connections, single banana plugs, and bare wire up to 12 gauge are all compatible with the nickel-plated spring posts.
Sealed Box Volume
Internal Volume of a Sealed Enclosure: Rockford Fosgate recommends an internal volume of 0.7 cubic feet for a sealed enclosure (from 0.5 to 0.75 cubic feet is acceptable). Sealed enclosures provide you the most control over your woofer, can handle a lot of power, and reproduce sound accurately, making them ideal for any style of music.
Vented Box Volume
A vented enclosure with an internal volume of 1.4 cubic feet and a 4" diameter x 13.7" long port tube with a tuning frequency of 42 Hz is recommended by Rockford Fosgate. Because ported (or vented) enclosures have a higher overall efficiency than sealed enclosures, they can be used with smaller amplifiers, resulting in stronger bass output from less power. However, this efficiency comes at the cost of a lot of other things.
